TitleTributes to Anna Pavlova
Extent1 blue and red scrapbook and 1 folder
DescriptionGinner was a great fan of Madame Anna Pavlova as shown by the four scrapbooks dedicated to her. This scrapbook contains a letter written by Ginner to Pavlova’s husband after her death in which she writes that she never missed a performance of Pavlova's, she also makes other comments that suggest she and Pavlova were friends. The January 1930 issue of ‘The Link’ (BB/K/1/22) documents a visit by Pavlova to the Ginner-Mawer school on 28 November 1929 where she watched a short demonstration of Greek movement arranged by Miss Ginner, in which all members of the school participated. This was reported as being a great honour for all those who met her.
