| Description | The Ginner-Mawer School of Dance and Drama was evacuated during the Second World War to Boscastle in Devon. After the War the School could not return to its London premises due to damage and so it moved to premises in Cheltenham in 1947. This scrapbook documents Ginner's and Mawers' time there and includes articles and programmes relating to performances by the Ginner-Mawer Company, to the School itself, and to Ruby Ginner and Irene Mawer including news of their retirements from, and the closure of, the School in 1954.
Several other events happened in this period, Ginner was made a Freeman of Amphissa, Greece in 1948, the same year as Mawer's husband Mark Perugini died; The Greek Dance Association became affiliated with the ISTD Greek Branch in 1951 and Ginner was awarded the Gold Leaf commemorative medal and diploma by the Hellenic Red Cross for services to Greece in the 2nd World War.
