TitleWooden truncheon
Date[1921?]
Extent1 truncheon
DescriptionDark brown polished wooden truncheon approximately 40 cm long, of a pattern similar to 19th century police truncheons. At the top it is 4cm wide, tapering gradually 2.5 cm at the base. There are 5 ridges [presumably for fingers] at the base, and a leather strap just above the base. Presumably Shepard used it in his duties as a special constable.
Physical DescriptionLike the other objects, the leather is somewhat scuffed, dried-out, and brittle. The wood finish is scuffed or chipped in several places.
