Captions read: 'Seven saturated submariners strafing sandbanks ; Eight elemental egoists endeavouring to eat "early piece" ; nine nonpolitic noblemen negotiating naughty neutrals ; Ten tortuous tempters telegraphing tarradiddles to Turkey'.
