DescriptionView looking out at various university buildings under construction, from atop one building. The balcony like area of the roof where the photographer is stationed, stretches up the right hand side of the photo with exposed pipes and metal bars sticking out along the inside wall. In the foreground on the left, branches of a tall deciduous tree jut into view. In the centre foreground, some building foundations are visible, partly contained within a corrugated metal wall. Parts of the metal meshwork are visible alongside concreted sections and a section with two pipes sticking out of it. On the left of the corrugated metal wall is a patch of muddy ground littered with scraps and lengths of wood, before another lot of building foundations, with a low wooden surround supported by small posts. In the middle of the photo, behind these intial building fountations, is a road which runs from the left of the photo and curves slightly on its path to the right, with an intersecting road centrally positioned in the picture (this road inclines uphill further back). There are three vans near the intersecting section of road and then towards the right, there is a collection of cars parked in front of a white wooden hut which has a dark cross on a white background, on the door. Opposite this hut, across the road, are two more long white wooden huts/ cabins and four workers sit in front of the first one of these. On the left hand side of the intersecting road is a university building which has four levels so far and scaffolding up around it. There are three more buildings of a similar design, but further along in their development, on the inclining ground behind. There is a tower crane sticking out above one of these with its arm/ jib facing the right and a load suspended from its hook block/ pulley section. On the far left of the photo is a row of white temporary huts/ cabins, behind which is a line of trees with one much taller tree jutting into the photo on the left and a freestanding cross poking over the top of the line. Guildford Cathedral sits atop the hill in the background, with a crane standing up in front of it, its arm extended diagonally up to the right and with a load suspended from this.
