DescriptionPhoto taken from ground level looking out on a wide open, muddy space being cleared by bulldozers. On the earth in the foreground, vehicle tracks cut through the mud in straight and curved tracks. To the left is a bulldozer facing the front and pointing slightly to the left, with a trailor heaped full of earth. One site worker is visible behind the cab of this machine. On the right of the foreground are two large mounds of earth. In the centre of the photo is another large open space and another bulldozer, side onto the photographer and facing to the right. The open cleared space leads to a section of tiered levels which have been cut into the ground and some of which have mini brick walls at the step point. There are several workers towards the back of this tiered area and two small dumper trucks (one of which has a driver in). Behind, at the top of the tiered section is a long white temporary hut and further back on the right of this is a university building with scaffolding around and no windows installed yet. Directly behind the hut are some deciduous trees of different heights. Guildford Cathedral can be seen, end on, poking above the tallest of these trees. A tall crane cuts into the central background space and on the far right of the photo, Senate House can be seen along with some other buildings at a lower level.
