The fore and mid ground is muddy, open space on two levels with the foreground on a lower level. A muddy track/ road can be seen winding across the lower level from the right side to the left. One worker (in hard hat and gum boots) is walking along this track, looking up at a crane which is situated up on the bank, on the higher level. The crane arm is almost fully upright and suspended below it is a pile drill, nearly as long as the crane arm itself. One worker stands near the base/ bit of the drill, another under the crane arm, one more outside the crane cab and another round at the back of the crane. A second crane arm can be seen, partly in the photo on the left hand side and a work hut on the ground underneath it. A group of three workers are huddled a short distance from the hut and one more is seen walking towards the crane in front of this group. A large, bare tree stands on the right hand side of the crane and behind that a line of trees going into the field behind, along with two lines of power cables (either side of the field behind the tree). On the lower ground below the tree, stands some long wooden containers and a taller metal unit. One worker is in the bottom corner on the far right of the photo, walking up the mud track. Above his head on the higher ground is a pile of construction materials e.g. wooden planks, and above this on still higher ground is a parked car and another vehicle, possibly a works one.
