DescriptionOutside view of the construction of university buildings below Guildford Catherdral. The view looks out to the muddy land inclining up towards the cathedral. There are two rows of white, wooden, temporary huts/ cabins which are almost parallel, in the foreground/ centre-ground of the photo, with power cable posts dotted along and between these. At the end of the first row of huts, on the left and in the foreground, is another building structure made from corrugated iron. The second row of huts is shorter and has two sets of steps going up towards it, from the direction of the lower huts. On the left of the second row of huts is a muddy road/ track and various construction equipment and materials are dotted around the area e.g. a cement mixer, ladders, a skip, mounds of earth/ sand and piles of bricks. Up the track/ road and behind the initial rows of huts, are some of the university buildings which are under construction. These have scaffolding around them. In the centre of the photo is a small crane with its arm in the air. The crane has 'RICHARDS WALLINGTON' in print across it. Between the university land and Guildford Cathedral, is a line of trees, with three larger ones dotted through the line. There is another row of white huts on higher ground from the others, and on the left hand side. A taller, larger crane is visible on the right hand side of the photo, not quite at the height of the cathedral, in the photo.
