DescriptionPhotograph taken from the flat roof of one of the university buildings up near Guildford Cathedral. The flat roof has a small dome vent and a couple of funnels/ chimneys near the centre. In the foreground on the left, is a wheelbarrow, some planks of wood and rags. On the right hand side, going out of the photo, is a brick with circular holes, a scrap of material and a wooden plank. Further in the centre of the photo is another building which is at much the same level as the one the photographer is on, though its roof is unfinished and there are gaps for the windows. Three men are working on this building, one bending over a stack of bricks on the nearside and the other two on the roof. On the left of this building is an open grassy field before a hedgerow and on the other side of this is Guildford Cathedral, partly in view. A large dark wooden hut stands a little way from the entrance of the cathedral. In the background a mixture of fields, trees and residential housing is visible.
