DescriptionProgramme of the Second Annual Lifeboat Matinee, held in the presence of Their Majesties the King and Queen. Note inside the front cover reads 'Owing to the illness of His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen is unable to attend. H.R.H. the Duke of York, K.G. has graciously consented to be present in Her Majesty's place.' The programme also contains a drawing of a life-boat man of Penilee life-boat by Laura Knight, an advertisement for the Plaza Theatre, the programme for the evening, and a page of thanks. The majority of the pages containing lists of performances are stuck together due to water damage. In the programme there is also a publicity flyer for the evening which includes a list of performances: 'An all-British programme no item of which has been previously performed', A Scene from the Opera "The Rhythm Eternal", "The Legend of the Faerie Crag", "The Masque of the Sea" (Ginner), "Their Business in Great Waters" a play in one act, and "Pas Seul". The flyer contains a list of patrons of the matinee, the ticket-selling committee, prices of seats and an order form.
