TitleRuby Ginner press cuttings book 1931-1936
Date1931-1936
Extent1 large red scrapbook
DescriptionReviews, programmes, and publicity, for performances featuring Ruby Ginner, Irene Mawer and the Ginner-Mawer Company at various venues and events. Also articles written by Ginner and Mawer concerning Greek Dance and Mime.

This was another busy period for the Ginner-Mawer School and for the founders themselves; Ginner's first book The Revived Greek Dance was published in 1933, Mawer formed the Institute of Mime in the same year of which there is evidence in the scrapbook; Mawer's first book The Art of Mime was also published in 1932. The Ginner-Mawer Company continued to flourish with further outdoor performances such as the one in Hyde Park on the 3rd June 1933 - evidence of the popularity of the performance is shown in some newspaper images in that year.
In 1936 a Greek Dance Festival took place at The Royal Albert Hall (see BB/N/7 for detailed information) of which there is evidence here, and the Ginner-Mawer Company were also on BBC television - details in BB/N/8).
