DescriptionOne notebook imprinted M.S.S.containing dance notes in the form of text and symbols. The inside cover states 'Madge Atkinson, Lisson Grove, Hale, Cheshire.'

The main headings throughout the notes are as follows: Chap XVIII of Measure or Cadence; Extracts from "Arbeau" Basse Danse 1588, p. 24; Galliardes Capriole p.38; Posture for the Galliard; Steps for Galliard; Galliard by Dr. John Bull; Pavanne; Minuet Steps; List of Dances in Feuillets "Recueil de Danses" 1704; "Basse" Dance 15th Century.

The notes in the back of the book also include a list of Dance Charts in the following: Phillipe Rameau's Choreographie 1925; Feuillets Choreographie and 'Recueil'; Arbeau's "Orchesographie". Notes from 'Dictionnaire de Danse and a list of dance books.

A note placed inside the book states that the notes were written by MA or Phyllis Holt-a friend who was interested in what MA was studying. MA met Dolmetsch family through the Holts. Last section in Ella Voysey's Writing'.
