DescriptionPhotograph of Dr Nigel Gilbert of the Department of Sociology at the University of Surrey, being interviewed by Steve Harris from Southern Television. Caption on reverse says ''I'm going to tell it I've got seventeen children...' Southern Television's interviewer Steve Harris with Dr Nigel Gilbert (Sociology) at the launch of the public rials in Brighton of the Welfare Benefits Information System. The System helps enquirers to learn which welfare benefits they might be entitled to, depending on their circumstances. It was developed by Dr Gilbert in conjunction with Marie Lawler, a member of the Social Services Department in Brighton. The project was featured in Southern Television's 'Day by Day' and on BBC Radio Brighton on 12 February 1981 and in the Brighton Evening Argus and The Guardian (front page) the following day'
