DescriptionThe Warren Lamb Collection reflects the life and career of Warren D Lamb, dancer, movement theorist and management consultant. The collection chiefly consists of Lamb’s personal and professional papers, including records relating to Warren Lamb Associates and other organisations with which he was involved. The collection also includes publications relating to Lamb, and supplementary deposits of material from additional sources of contextual relevance to Lamb’s archive.

As of February 2024, the catalogued component of the collection comprises:
- records of British Dance Theatre, [1940s-1950s];
- papers relating Lamb’s Education and Research activities, including practitioner courses, 1943-2013;
- papers and publications by Warren Lamb and Warren Lamb Associates, 1940s-2013;
- files and papers relating to media appearances by Warren Lamb, 1959-2005.

Work is ongoing to process and catalogue the remainder of the collection, which includes records of Lamb’s consultancy work, files relating to professional associations, and Lamb’s diaries and correspondence. This finding aid will be updated in due course as further series are catalogued.
Administrative HistoryWarren Lamb (1923-2014) was a dancer, movement theorist and management consultant. A student of Rudolf Laban and Lisa Ullmann at the Art of Movement Studio, Manchester, Lamb pioneered the practice of Action Profiling (later known as Movement Pattern Analysis).
