Paper headed with "Saturday" [Handwritten].
Florence writes and asks E H Shepard to be "very careful". She also asks that E H Shepard pay a bill. Florence writes that she is worried about Mary Shepard [sp.?]. Florence writes that she managed to keep Turie [Trix] [sp.?] "away from the hospital", and Helen Tuckett, for a few hours. Florence writes that soon after they got in they were informed that "'the operation had not yet begun'"; she writes that soon after she went to find a nurse to see what had happened. Florence writes that she was then informed that Helen had "gone into the theatre". Florence writes that shortly after that, a woman, who had come in to visit her husband [himself ill with "pneumonia"], started crying "in the most awful way"; Florence writes that the woman was then informed that her husband had died. Florence writes that she herself was "really getting frightened", as Helen had been in the operating theatre for such a time. Florence writes that she presently heard the voice of a Dr that she knew, and asked how Helen was; she was informed that the operation was successful. Florence writes that she then went to the post office to "send off two letters". Florence writes that "both the kids have colds again". Florence writes that she wishes E H Shepard were with her.
