TitleLetter from E H Shepard to Florence Eleanor Shepard
Date21 May 1917
Extent1 paper, 1 envelope
DescriptionEHS has interviewed the Colonel this morning, who was quite indignant about them having a new O.C. appointed to them as he believes EHS is quite good enough for the job. However the new man has answered and he's quite a good fellow. He has been in the ranks and is a pukka soldier, probably about 38 years old. EHS wonders if they have settled down now or if there are to be any more changes. The new Canadian sub. "is a fairly tough customer". He has experience though - he used to go out to the front line to fix barbed wire and blow up dug outs during attacks. He describes their "bath house" and the cook house of which the new C.O. was impressed.
