TitleLetter from E H Shepard to Florence Eleanor Shepard
Date16 Aug 1917
Extent2 papers
DescriptionEHS has been working hard, day and night, eating with one hand and taking telephone messages with the other, Hey running out to give the guns their line of fire. He doesn't think the "old hun" will take such a knock lying down; his fighting quality isn't a patch on what it was last year though. He believes he could direct things from Chideock well enough. He remembers a little pastry shop in Bridport where his wife has been. He hopes the dentist has been good to her tooth and asks will the servant problem be solved when the Gossages come down? He's sure Pip would enjoy doing it. He can imagine Baba and the coastguard.
