DescriptionE H Shepard says that he has been superintending the fixing up of a place to keep the Douglas cycle alongside the tunnel. He thanks Florence for sending items to Serp. He says that the house will be quiet once Graham goes to school and Mary is away at St Catherines but he says that he hopes to be home soon.

He says that they have been playing jokes on Charles before he goes home on leave and he then recalls memories of when they were both young
