DescriptionE H Shepard writes that he hopes it isn't too deadly without the 'kiddies' and he hopes that 'my nice little sweetheart is keeping chearful'. He says that they are all cursing Charles as he has overstayed his leave and Hughes can't go on leave until Charles returns. Shepard says that Charles says he is in hospital with a sore throat but ht would not be surprised if Charles had told the doctor that he has been gassed.

Shepard writes that tomorrow is their wedding day and he wishes that he was home to give Florence a nice time. He tells Florence that 'I wouldn't mind how many breakfasts I had to get ready, or how cross you were or anything at all, if only I could be with you, dearest'

He writes that they have another fellow attached to them named Sly
