DescriptionE H Shepard says that there is a thunderstorm going on and he says that he had been walking for miles in the trenches with the Major and soliders from another battery for a tour of observation and the weather had been very hot. He says that there has been a depressing gap in their supply of papers as the subscription ran out. He says that he hears the Daily Mail has been saying that the war is practically over, but he says that it seems to be going to the other extreme
