Four small sketches show humorous scenes featuring increasing numbers of individuals from seven to ten. This may be a parody of the carol 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'. Drawing published in 'Punch' magazine almanack in 1916. Captions read: 'Seven saturated submariners strafing sandbanks ; Eight elemental egoists endeavouring to eat "early piece" ; nine nonpolitic noblemen negotiating naughty neutrals ; Ten tortuous tempters telegraphing tarradiddles to Turkey'. |
