| Description | Rehearsals of reconstructions done by Bettina Vernon and Evelyn Ippen for the Bodenwieser Live Study Demonstration held at Sadler's Wells Theatre on 29 May 1991. Six Bodenwieser exercises are demonstrated: 1) barre exercise using figures of eight; 2) jumping-leaping routine; 3a) Narrow and Wide, the lyrical version; 3b) Narrow and Wide, the sharp/strong version; 4a) Four Corner Step, the happy version; 4b) Four Corner Step, the melancholic version; 5) Circular Step; 6) Swinging Bell. The dancers are British dancer Cherrill Sands and four Austrian students from the Laban Centre: Margit Fuchs, Gundla Krainz, Ingrid Reisetbauer, Sibylle Starkbaum. The video proceeds in the following order: run-through of all the excercises in order (with repeats edited out). |
