DescriptionPostmark difficult to read; includes pencil sketch [self-portrait in underclothing [?], by Florence Shepard] and page of pencil sketches by Mary Shepard. Florence Shepard has annotated Mary Shepard's drawings, with compliments, and speculation over the contents.
Written at Chalfont Lodge, Grosvenor Road, Paignton, Devon [corresponding headed note paper]. Letter postmarked 28 [February?] 1916, and addressed to E H Shepard; sent care of Mrs. Leatham [sp.?], 1 Royal Terrace, Weymouth, Dorset.
Florence writes that next Friday they are due to have Bell ringing [sp.?] practice from 12 o'clock to 10 o'clock. Florence also writes that she hopes that the trains won't be stopped. Florence writes that it is "lovely and sunny today", although the snow is still present. Florence notes that Sara [sp.?] has reported that eight inches of snow have fallen at home. Florence writes that she is feeling rather dizzy, and so is "writing in bed". Florence confirms that she has received the pound, but notes that she "hasn't touched it yet". Florence writes that she is going to do a bit of shopping.
