Date14 Feb 1916
Extent2 papers
DescriptionPapers torn from a pad or similar.
Letter postmarked 14 February 1916 and addressed to E H Shepard; sent care of Mrs. Leatham [sp.?], 1 Royal Terrace, Weymouth, Dorset. Postmark indicates that the letter was processed in [Bramley?] Guildford.
Florence writes that on Friday evening Old Tanner [sp.?] saw someone come round and that they didn't answer when he spoke to them; she writes that they were "all puzzled" as to what it could mean. Florence writes that Sara [sp.?] suggested that the man might have been after the "[peats?][seats?]", which Florence herself deemed very likely. Florence writes that Old Briscoe came "this afternoon", and that he received a charming letter from E H Shepard. Florence also writes that she likes E H Shepard's new writing paper, and that she herself has "got" new writing paper especially for the purpose of writing to him.
[Continued on another page: Monday]
Florence writes that she got a "nice long letter this morning", and that she hopes that E H Shepard received what she sent on Friday morning. Florence writes that Pip [Pip Gossage] is coming presently, and that she herself needs to do the washing.
