Florence writes that "it seems so sad…without you [E H Shepard]", and notes that she feels "horribly heavy inside" when E H Shepard goes away. Florence also writes that parting from E H Shepard seems to get worse. Florence writes that she has "tucked Peter [Helen Tuckett] up" in bed. Florence writes that she seems "to do nothing but worry you [E H Shepard] about money", but wishes that she did not have to. Florence signs off this section of the letter affectionately with the nickname "Mont".

Florence writes that Peter [Helen Tuckett] has mended some pieces of clothing, and is "getting on splendidly". Florence reports that they had a "lovely rain". Florence asks that E H Shepard send her "£2". Florence writes that she sent Ethel [Ethel Shepard], one of E H Shepard's photos, and asks whether he has received the pair of socks that Ethel [Ethel Shepard] sent. Florence writes that "the garden looks lovely after the rain", and wishes that that they could wander round it together. Florence signs off this section of the letter with the nicknames "Mont" and "Puss" [Mary Shepard?].
