Written at Red Cottage [Shamley Green, Guildford]. Letter postmarked 23 May 1916 and addressed to E H Shepard at 105 Siege Battery, R.G.A. British Expeditionary Force.
Paper headed with "22nd, Red Cottage, Monday" [Handwritten].
Florence writes that she has had no letter from E H Shepard today, and that she hopes that he is "allright" [sp.?]. Florence writes that she received a cheque, and that she paid in "£15". Florence writes that she called on "Miss [sp.?] Tapp", and was asked to draw for "two mornings a week"; Florence writes that she doesn't think that she could manage more than one morning per week, but notes that "perhaps Mont will scrape up a pound or two towards the pot" in this way. Florence asks E H Shepard to write to Ethel Shepard, as she would be "so interested". Florence writes that Graham Shepard is continuing with his regime of cold baths, and that she is "sure it's doing him good". Florence writes that she wishes that E H Shepard could see the garden. Florence also notes that she wishes that she could see E H Shepard, and that "three months is a long time to wait". Florence signs off with the nickname "Pie".
