Written at Red Cottage [Shamley Green, Guildford]. Letter postmarked 24 May 1916 and addressed to E H Shepard at 105 Siege Battery, R.G.A. British Expeditionary Force.
Paper headed with "24th May, Red Cottage" [Handwritten]. Florence writes that she feels "wretched" that her letters have not reached E H Shepard. Florence writes that she wanted to send a wire, but was assured that a letter would get through more quickly. Florence writes that she wrote to "Miss [sp.?] Tapp", to inform her that she would be happy to teach for one "whole morning" per week for five guineas; Florence writes that she hopes that she has not overcharged. Florence writes that she wishes that she knew the location of E H Shepard. Florence writes that she is thinking of her "nice little soldier boy". Florence writes that the "babes are doing very well + [and] doing nicely at school". Florence notes that Graham Shepard continues to enjoy his cold baths. Florence writes that she hopes that E H Shepard receives her letters, but notes that "it's rather awful to think of you getting them in an avalanche". Florence writes that the garden "looks lovely". Florence signs of with the nickname "Mont".
