Florence writes that she is relieved that E H Shepard has received her letters. Florence writes that petrol is growing expensive, and that "the chances of selling any sort of motor will be very small".
Florence writes that they "can perhaps get some relief for the kids". Florence notes that she is not so terrified now that her letters get to E H Shepard.
Florence writes that she hopes that E H Shepard doesn't have a bath in the passage. Florence asks whether her letters to E H Shepard are censored. Florence writes that "all the potatoes are up and hoed". Florence writes that she thinks of E H Shepard "such a lot", and hopes that he is "allright [sic] and jolly". Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
