Letter postmarked 30 May 1916 and addressed to E H Shepard at 105 Siege Battery, R.G.A. British Expeditionary Force, France.
Paper headed with "Tuesday 5 past one, 30th May" [Handwritten].
Florence writes that she is writing in the studio, "where I've been working nearly all the morning". Florence writes that she wishes that E H Shepard could enjoy the studio beside her. Florence writes that the garden "looks lovely"; Florence writes that she's "never seen the tulips so lovely". Florence writes that she has withdrawn several cheques; she writes that one came back to be signed. Florence writes that she has been contacted by "Miss [sp.?] Tapps" with regard to drawing lessons. Florence writes that she is aware that E H Shepard will be moving from his current location soon.
Florence writes that the must soon send back "horrible insurance papers", as they must be back in "21 days". Florence writes that she hates that E H Shepard is moving. Florence writes that "the kiddies have just burst in".
Florence writes that "Fred" is coming to teach a French lesson. Florence writes that perhaps "Pip [Pip Gossage] will want lessons too". Florence writes that she hopes that E H Shepard will not get "horrid headaches". Florence also writes that she is pleased that E H Shepard is well fed. Florence writes that Ethel [Ethel Shepard] and Rosemary [Rosemary Shepard] are "coming for tea". Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
