Letter postmarked 12 June 1916 and addressed to E H Shepard at 105 Siege Battery, R.G.A. British Expeditionary Force, France.
Paper headed with "Monday 12th June" [Handwritten].
Florence reiterates that "there is a nasty rumour going round that all communication with France is to be cut off"; Florence writes that the Post Office have no awareness of such a thing. Florence writes that it would disturb her if she and E H Shepard could not exchange letters.
Florence writes that she got E H Shepard's letter that he received the parcel that she sent.
Florence writes that "we had a victory after all", and that she gave thanks in church for the "naval victory". Florence writes that it is "raining hard", and that she wonders if that is the case where E H Shepard is located. Florence writes that she is afraid that E H Shepard's "meat lozenges" will go bad. Florence mentions that E H Shepard's drawing has not come out in Punch.
Florence writes that "Mary [Mary Shepard] is making a drawing for you". Florence writes that she was weighed at the Ewehurst Gossages, and that she weighed in at ten stone; Florence asks how E H Shepard would "like to carry that about + [and] have it all sitting on your knee".
Florence writes that she wishes that E H Shepard could see the garden; she notes that the vegetables are in "lovely neat heathy rows".
