Florence writes that a woman of her acquaintance would like lessons; she writes that the lady has offered her "3 guineas" a day, but that she is wondering whether she should hold out for four. Florence writes that the woman seems "keen + [and] astute". Florence writes that she feels better. Florence writes that she will be teaching four mornings through the week.
Florence writes that it is "extraordinarily cold". Florence also writes that she is still concerned that the rumour that communication will be cut from France will prove true; she encourages E H Shepard to be careful if they should be cut off as she will be "so dreadfully anxious".
Florence writes that the new maid has just finished mowing the grass. Florence writes that there is a "lovely" bunch of flowers on the dining room table.
Florence writes that Graham Shepard's school work is improving. Florence writes that she hopes that E H Shepard is "comfy". Florence signs off with the nicknames "Mont" [Florence Shepard] and "Puss" [Mary Shepard?].
