Description | Date from letter. Envelope postmarked 18 June 1916 and addressed to E H Shepard at 105 Siege Battery, R.G.A. British Expeditionary Force, France. Paper headed with "Sunday 18th June" [Handwritten]. Florence writes that it is her birthday, "but I don't feel at all like it". Florence writes that she received has E H Shepard's letter; she writes that she is upset that "that nasty rumour…reached you", and notes that she had just persuaded herself that it was untrue [see EHS/C/13/16/11]. Florence writes that she will try to get a drawing done for E H Shepard's, but notes that her eyes are bad. Florence writes that she is sorry that "it's so wet and cold" for E H Shepard, but she reminds him that she is "thinking of him such a lot". Florence writes that E H Shepard should send letters to "E + [and] F" ["E"-Ethel Shepard? /Ellen Shepard?]["F"-"Fred?]. Florence writes that she loves sending E H Shepard parcels, as it gives her "more pleasure than anything". Florence writes that "Puss [Mary Shepard] liked the drawing very much". Florence writes that she has not seen any of the Punch drawings "come out this week". Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
