Florence wits that she has had no letter from E H Shepard today. Florence writes that E H Shepard's Punch drawings have come out. Florence encourages him to try to draw one "next month". Florence writes that she does hate "to worry you, as you must be awfully hard worked now".
Florence writes that she has heard that coal will go up in price come winter; she writes that she is thinking of purchasing some pre-emptively.
Florence writes that "Pip [Pip Gossage] is still in bed", and that the "babe had not turned up".
Florence writes that she "couldn't get to sleep", and that her "heart [beat] so hard nearly all night". She writes that she will be glad when E H Shepard can get back home.
Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
