Envelope postmarked 29 June 1916 and addressed to E H Shepard at 105 Siege Battery, R.G.A. British Expeditionary Force, France.
Paper headed with "Thursday 29th June" [Handwritten].
Florence writes that she has received a letter from E H Shepard requesting a drawing. She notes that she enclosed the drawing a few days ago, and that he should have it by now. However, Florence writes that she will "do another".
Florence asks E H Shepard whether he wears a "sharpened [sp.?] helmet"; she writes that he should, and that it doesn't matter if they are "ugly or silly looking". Florence describes a number of children enacting Shakespeare's "Merchant of Venice" "Portia" scene. Florence writes that if E H Shepard could have seen the children in character he "would have expired".
Florence writes that the garden "looks wonderful". She writes that there has been "so much rain". Florence writes that she wishes that E H Shepard could see the "rows of potatoes all bursting into flower".
Florence asks that E H Shepard be careful.
Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
