Paper headed with "Friday 30th June" [Handwritten]. Florence writes that it is after dinner, and that she has "just partaken of cold lamb, new potatoes + [and] spinach"; Florence writes "So you see Mont does not starve". Florence writes that she has had no letter from E H Shepard today. Florence asks that E H Shepard try to send her something "every day"; she writes that "I get a bit anxious with all this bombardment going on". Florence writes that she and "Sara [sp.?]" have dusted the studio; Florence writes that she'll "make it more comfy for you when you get back". Florence writes that she feels "more hopeful about the war"; she notes that the news "is good from all quarters". Florence reminds E H Shepard of Graham Shepard's birthday; she asks him to "write to him". Florence asks E H Shepard whether the noise has an effect on his ears. Florence writes that she would like to hear what E H Shepard made of her parcel to him. Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
