Florence writes that she's "been lazy and had breakfast in bed". Florence writes that she is wondering what E H Shepard has been doing. Florence writes and asks that he tell her when he is "really under fire and everything you may [verify]". Florence writes that she had an odd dream. Florence writes that she is going to church.
Florence notes that she hopes to go to the bank on Tuesday. Florence writes that she wonders whether E H Shepard has seen any fighting yet; she writes that see does not want him to see the wounded, but to "try not to mind too much if you do". Florence writes that E H Shepard should tell her of the food that he gets, so that she may send what he does not. Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
