Letter postmarked 6 June 1916 and addressed to E H Shepard at 105 Siege Battery, R.G.A. British Expeditionary Force, France.
Paper headed with "6th June, Tuesday evening" [Handwritten].
Florence writes that she is worried for E H Shepard. Florence writes that she hopes that he will not spend much longer in that "horrid Town". Florence writes that she is going to give "Vera" [?] two more lessons this week, making it "6 in all". Florence writes that "Miss [sp.?] Tapp" wants her to teach six lessons this term; Florence writes that Graham [Graham Shepard] is "delighted that I'm going to do it". Florence writes that Graham Shepard commented that he wished that "Daddy were here". Florence Shepard writes that Graham Shepard has nearly learnt to ride a bicycle.
Florence writes that she has had no letter from E H Shepard today, but notes that she is not surprised as she had two the day before.
Florence writes that she wishes that she could see E H Shepard. Florence asks E H Shepard whether he has a bed in the deserted house; Florence writes curious about how E H Shepard manages his food. Florence writes that she would like "any and every little detail" about E H Shepard's daily life.
Florence writes that she is beginning to feel better about their monetary situation. Florence writes that she would like to know when to pay money in to the bank and how much should be paid in. Florence writes that she would far prefer to be with E H Shepard than to talk of money.

Florence writes that she has travelled to give "Vera" [?] a lesson. Florence writes that "It is true what they say about Kitchener…our luck is appalling". Florence writes that she was pleased to hear that they have moved E H Shepard from "that horrid town". Florence writes that she would "love the little painting", and tells him to send it as soon as he can. Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
