Paper headed with "8th June /16" [Handwritten]. Florence writes that she is writing in bed, although she should be out. Florence writes that she "had rather a bad night", and didn't sleep well. Florence writes that she wishes that E H Shepard could have been there. Florence writes that she got E H Shepard's letter dated 5th June. Florence writes of the garden, and notes that "It has been raining on and off here the last few days"; she writes that as a result, things are growing "wonderfully". Florence writes that she would like to know how E H Shepard has enjoyed the parcel. She writes that "Pip" [Pip Gossage] will also be sending one at the end of the week. Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
