Florence writes that she has received E H Shepard's letters in an odd order. Florence writes that she hopes that E H Shepard has not written to Pip Gossage concerning the portrait; she notes that "they've been kind".
Florence details the circumstances of Cyril's death; she writes that he was killed "straight away…as he was leading the charge". Florence notes the approximate location of Cyril's burial place, so that E H Shepard might seek it out.
