First paper headed with "Saturday 22nd July" [Handwritten].
Florence writes that she has made up a new parcel for E H Shepard; she writes that she will send another parcel next week with "a great big cake in, and two new batteries for your torch".
Florence writes that she has had another letter from E H Shepard today. She writes that is must seem sad that Cyril [Cyril Shepard] "died so near you".
Florence writes that she has seen in the papers that "the Germans have been using masses of gas shells"; she asks that E H Shepard keep his "masque [sp.?]" with him always. Florence writes that she is upset that E H Shepard is having a difficult time with "not much food and hardly any sleep". Florence writes that she thinks of E H Shepard very frequently.
Florence writes of the garden; she writes that it looks "so neat".
Florence writes that she will enclose the "official reports from the papers" when possible.
Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
