British Expeditionary Force, France. Paper headed with "Monday 23/24rd July" [Handwritten]. Florence writes that E H Shepard wrote to her of the dug out; Florence writes that she hopes that it has nearly ben completed, and that he "gave up the tent". Florence writes that she has ordered new Gillette blades for E H Shepard. Florence writes that she will also be sending a "nice plum cake" made by "Sara [sp.?]". Florence writes that she was given some more of Cyril Shepard's letters to read; she writes that she "cried + [and] cried". Florence writes that she wishes that she could have E H Shepard back with her. Florence writes that she hopes that E H Shepard "got a little rest". Florence writes that she is sorry that the ginger cake was dry; she notes that "it was a beauty, but was a long way on the road". Florence asks whether E H Shepard would like to send some items of clothing to be "washed and mended". Florence signs off with the nickname "Pussy Mont".
