Envelope postmarked 5 July 1916 and addressed to E H Shepard at 105 Siege Battery, R.G.A. British Expeditionary Force, France. Paper headed with "Wednesday 5th July /16" [Handwritten]. Florence writes that she received E H Shepard's letters; she writes that she liked the drawing "so much". Florence writes that she "had a very nice day yesterday"; she writes that she has purchased a pair of walking boots for Graham Shepard. Florence writes that she went to see "Captain Bingham [sp.?]" with a piece that she had done for him; she writes that she did not feel confident after her "Gossage experience", and did not expect him to like the piece. Florence writes that when his partner [?] asked if he liked he piece he said "'No, I love it, I love it'"; Florence writes that she was much "cheered" by this. Florence writes of the garden, and of "Andrews", who is tending to the garden. Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
