Description | Written at Red Cottage [Shamley Green, Guildford]. Letter postmarked 8 July 1916 and addressed to E H Shepard at 105 Siege Battery, R.G.A. British Expeditionary Force, France. Florence writes that she is afraid that E H Shepard will be "such a sad little chap today" [as a result of EHS/C/13/17/7 contents]. Florence tells E H Shepard "not to think of things too much until you get home + [and] I can comfort you". Florence writes that she has a piece of "good news" for E H Shepard; she writes that his "bluebell wood" [picture?] has sold for "£18". Florence asks E H Shepard to be careful. She also asks that he "write to Baba [Graham Shepard] for his birthday". Florence signs off with the nickname "Monty [sp.?]".
