Description | Date from letter. Written at Red Cottage [Shamley Green, Guildford]. Letter postmarked 11 July 1916 and addressed to E H Shepard at 105 Siege Battery, R.G.A. British Expeditionary Force, France. Paper headed with "11th July" [Handwritten]. Florence asks E H Shepard to be careful, and notes that she is "anxious". Florence writes that it does sound "so dangerous". Florence writes that the "18 guineas" came in yesterday; Florence notes that "it will be a proud moment to pay it in". Florence writes that she is "dreadfully [sp.?] sad"; she wonders if E H Shepard has yet heard of Cyril's death. Florence signs off with the nickname "Mont".
