Description | A A Milne tells E H Shepard that both Lucas and Dutton are insisting on a book this Christmas and he has promised a 'Winnie-the-Pooh' book. He says to Shepard that 'I don't know if you have heard of this animal - Christopher Robin's bear' and tells him that it all began with a story in the 'Evening News'. Milne says that he has now written two more stories and proposes a book of twelve stories, illustrated by E H Shepard.
Milne continues to say that he has another idea for 1927 or later. He says that Dutton is very keen on publishing a Mother Goose book of nursery rhymes, illustrated by Shepard. Milne says that John Macrae from Dutton wants to meet with them the following week and they can then discuss the two books. |
