TitleLetter from E H Shepard to Florence Eleanor Shepard
Date7 Jun 1916
Extent2 papers, 1 envelope
DescriptionWritten while EHS was undertaking military training. EHS tells FCS of the Peonie flowers where he is and how "they're just exactly the kind we wanted at home". He mentions Hamilton and Peter. EHS had heard from Hambly yesterday who is currently in Hospital but hopes to be back soon as Garrat is filling a vacancy at headquarters so they will be shorthanded. EHS talks about the posibility of him and FCS having to provide week-end accomodation for the "blighters at Long Acre" and says "if the worst came to worst and we did have to go - I'd wangle my leave alright + we'd push off to town somewhere". This suggests there was possibly a requisition from the home office at the time for people in Shamley Green to provide accomodation for military personel. EHS asks FCS for information on his dividends so that he can fill in his tax return.
