TitleLetter from E H Shepard to Florence Eleanor Shepard
Date24 Aug 1916
Extent1 paper, 1 envelope
DescriptionWritten while EHS was undertaking military training. EHS talks about having to get up often in the night saying that he should "absolutely refuse to budge", he says he should also "refuse to be put on short rations, so I warn you". He talks about supper in the dig-out being like a "school dormitary supper" with them all sharing each other's food they'd had sent in parcels. EHS thinks that FCS would have "enjoyed it awfully". EHS has read an account of the fighting on the 21st August and says he saw most of it from the F.O.O. EHS mentions Baba [Graham]'s school and signs off saying that he must go and censor "the hundreds of letters".
