TitleLetter from E H Shepard to Florence Eleanor Shepard
Date4 Jul 1917
Extent1 paper, 1 envelope
DescriptionEHS was awake early as the Colonel has a habit of coming round very early every morning. He has been to dinner with him. He is very sleepy and has a sore eye (mosquito bite). Hambly is still sleeping, his leave is due soon but EHS hopes it isn't before Garrett gets back. He says that he is writing a wee note to Baba for his birthday, and sending a 10 franc note which he can change at the post office. He had a splendid night - he and Hambly turned in early, looking at Sketch and Tatler before going to sleep. Cox pass book came yesterday, EHS writes of what pay he is getting and what he will be sending home each month. He saw a sale advertisement in Tatler and can't resist getting "them" for his wife but he won't say what it is. He is pleased about Pip taking the photo [of his wife in a costume] and asks for several as "I need a strong tonic".
