TitleLetter from E H Shepard to Florence Eleanor Shepard
Date5 Aug 1917
Extent1 paper, 1 envelope
DescriptionEHS describes the wet marshy conditions following the bad weather that remind him of Suffolk ["Wobbleswick"- Walberswick?] He writes that it seems so different to this time last year on the Somme. FCS has written that she'd got to Aunt Ellens. EHS has written to Aunt Ellen about the boots and asking her to give the money direct to FCS; he is also sending along a Cox cheque (£25). He asks if Chideock is really coming off. The Yorkshire maid sounds promising. He asks if M & G are coming along. EHS describes the water in the trenches, and how you do not know the depth until you try it. He wonders who the Long Acre Lady was and writes she must have broken all the St Pancras rules by marrying!
