TitleLetter from E H Shepard to Florence Eleanor Shepard
Date10 Aug 1917
Extent4 papers
DescriptionEHS has been "seeing to things" as they are expecting a visit from a general. He describes the mess he is writing from. He has received a letter from Peter (?), who enclosed a photo. His claim for lost clothes and glasses has come through. He wishes he could get some time off but work is hard - he has to attend a court martial at headquarters tomorrow. It is a nice break as it is at the farmhouse where "the fair haired girl with the figure lives". Hughes was impressed that EHS had sent "Vies" home. Birchenough is geting "a regular swashbuckler", using appalling language (like a Miss Horniman play).
